Hiring and Adding Classes

If you have tried to book a lesson and seen we were full, good news, I just added some more slots:

If there is something you’re looking for but we don’t seem to have dates that will work for you, reach out! We can often add additional sections on weekdays and I might be able to get another instructor to open up another weekend session.

Honestly, if there is any particular class we’re not offering that you think would be good (group intermediate classes anybody?) feel free to reply or email me and I’ll see what I can do.

Flat Water/Moving Water Day with Colorado Whitewater

Things have been crazy busy for me. Since the last email I’ve basically been in the water 5-6 days per week. 2 Swiftwater Rescue classes, 12 roll classes, Intro to Packrafting, Boat Based Rescue, Instructor Refreshers, 3 private lessons, a Ruby Horsethief trip, 5 days in Moab climbing and canyoneering, my mother-in-law came out and went rafting with us on Deckers, Monday night meetups (open to everyone at 5:30pm in Golden), staff training…

Wait, another instructor? Staff training? Yes, I’ve had so many requests for additional lesson slots (rolling in particular) that I finally, after 6 years, decided to hire some additional instructors. They’ll be pairing up with me on swiftwater classes, teaching rolling, and even doing private lessons to add some additional availability there too. I’m sure I’ll highlight them in a future email but thanks for joining the team Michael and Connor!

Advanced Swiftwater Rescue Classes

Swiftwater rescue classes are on the website and starting to book up. Already taken a SWR class and want something more? Check out the Advanced SWR class. The standard L4 class is a mile wide and an inch deep, but the Advanced class, we get to really dive into the skills and start applying them.

“Big shoutout to the coaches! They were fantastic at explaining things – really broke it down simply. Loved doing the demos and practice on land first; it made getting in the water feel way less intimidating and helped everything click. They were super patient and supportive the whole time. Feeling way more prepared to hop in the boat now. 10/10 would definitely recommend.” - Student from a SWR class 2 weeks ago

See you on the river!

PS. Made it this far? I like to include a random outdoor-related thing with each email: Come Raft with Me music video. This channel has a ton of rafting videos and some boating related covers of songs that they film on big trips like the Grand Canyon. Honestly some of my favorite Grand Canyon videos and they even canyoneer! If you know these people please tell them I want to be friends haha.
